Gilly began riding at the early age of five. Through her riding career she has competed in FEI level Dressage as well as FEI level Three- Day Eventing earning recognition in both. In 1996 Gilly earned her USDF Silver Medal for achievement at Fourth and Prix St.Georges Level. She was also part of the 1992 Area X Three- Day team that competed in Bromont Canada at the NAYRC and again in 1996 as part of the Region V Advanced Young Riders Dressage team to compete at Temple Farms at the NAYRC. She went on to develop her own Advanced level event horse, Simply Larry, who she purchased in 1995 as an un-started three year old. Still having goals in the competition arena for herself, Gilly continues to take lessons and clinics for herself which brings a constant changing dynamic of information to her students. In 2011 Gilly passed the USDF L judging program with distinction.
Simply Larry - The Master
Larry was born in 1992 and is a TB gelding. Gilly started Larry when he was just 3 years old and was able to compete him to the Advanced Levels in eventing. Larry has competed through to the CIC*** level. He is a tough horse but will teach you anything you need to know once you are ready to know it. Larry loves to jump and go fast. He can turn himself inside out for the perfect distance. He loves Mrs. Pasture's Horse Cookies and will do anything for them.
"Horses who are successful in competition these days are extraordinary movers and powerful, careful show jumpers. But finding one who combines all this with the look of eagles is nearly impossible. Thus when we compromise, we must compromise on the horse's movement, not on his agility. I now recognize that more than ever these are the qualities we need, qualities of the horse's spirit. Certainly we need great movers and powerful jumpers, but above all we need a partner, not a slave. We need horses who are supremely courageous, fiercely independent and phenomenally agile." ~ Jimmy Wofford

Serendipity-The little engine that could!
Dipty came to us in April of 2009 he is an impressive 17 hands. Dipty was pretty poorly neglected and was very under weight and had no muscle. After a couple of months Dipty made Simply 3-Day his new home. Everyone who rides him comments on how hard he tries. He loves being a part of the lesson and thinks everything new is a grand adventure. He is grateful for every new day.
Mi High Socks - Been there, Done That!
Socks is a funny little quarter horse. He is 15.2 but thinks he is 18 hands. He has done it all and he loves to teach kids and adults how to do it all as well! If Socks in on your dance card make sure you bring him carrots. He will do about anything for one of the special “orange sticks.”
Sammy - Pony Spectacular
Sammy is a New Mexico native who loves to jump. His nick name is Sammy Sosa since everyone one says, “Sammy is so _________”, cute, good, naughty, funny... You fill in the blank!
Manhattan - The Gentle Giant
Manny stands at 17 hands and has a heart as big as he is. He is a lovely ride with manners of a perfect gentleman. His bedroom eyes will talk you into feeding him lots and lots of treats. He is a wonderful addition to Simply 3-Day.
Bella the Barn Dog
In charge of security. Bella keeps an eye on all the girls and makes sure that everyone is safe and has had plenty of kisses and the occasional hug! She will greet you with a wag that takes over her entire body!
